ABSTRACTS

Terre in ascolto stands out for its tactile dimension: the audience is invited to engage in direct contact, which becomes an integral part of the perceptual experience. The surface, constructed manually through accumulation, discontinuity, and variations in density through the stratification of natural earths and minerals, generates a three-dimensional field in which matter manifests itself as an active and resistant presence. Through the act of touch, perception shifts from the visual to the sensorial, activating a mode of knowledge based on proximity and a physical relationship with the material.

The work ideally complements the research initiated in the experiential project Vision Beyond Light. Crafted directly by hand, it preserves the traces of the gesture and transforms the surface into a shared space for encounter and connection between the creator and the observer. Within the curatorial project of the Pavilion of the Republic of Guinea, entitled Le Son de l'Art: l'Écho de la Matière, the work initiates an intercultural dialogue in which matter becomes the bearer of history, memory, and meaning.

Presentation of the artist Paola Arrigoni by the ArtDirector Monia Malinpensa Art Gallery by La Telaccia of Turin (2023)

The assiduous research into the recovery of recycled and then masterfully reused materials by the artist Paola Arrigoni reveals a work of strong expressive value that stands out both for its decisive temperament and for its stimulating composition. Each subject is well structured and arises from an imaginative, emotional and intense ideation where the material, the absolute protagonist, is transformed into a pure creative flair with a notable charge of lyricism that develops a highly suggestive dimension of deep and constant contemplation. The harmonious fusion of colours, the material balance and the knowledge of the technique achieve exceptional results based on a precise commitment to formal rendering and light. The constructive charge, with an evident dreamlike-fantastic impulse, moves towards a highly scenographic elaboration of the material in direct contact with the user which determines an excellent result. It is an art, that of Paola Arrigoni, which reveals a coloristic intensity of pure and authentic sensitivity, in the name of a rich inventiveness, an original language and a realization of the material with a particular aspect, both aesthetic and content. . Her skills as a colorist are evident in her artistic activity; she knows how to reinvent the use of materials by transferring them into her works with a good command of the means and with a particular predisposition for manual skills in which precious, sometimes unpredictable, highly contemporary details stand out. The creative industriousness is solid in its process and is represented by a variety of subjects in continuous transformation in which different elements, combined perfectly with each other, blend with the compositional rhythm and with their own perspective space that is always new and vital. Emotions, managed by vibrant colour, are constantly dressed in interior freedom and spirituality where the artist Paola Arrigoni tries to give, with her works, the meaning of life and does so in full vigor of chromatic highlights and with her truth of the heart. They are works that make us reflect because they establish connections, introspections, intense environmental, social and human meanings but also ironic and rich in metaphors. It is an intimately felt expressiveness linked to a very personal stylistic research imbued with fragments of memories and above all of experience which communicates to the user authentic values, feelings and absolute color sensations.
